Dr. William Hobbs Master Painter of Railways

Dr. William G. Hobbs Paints Carievale Station for the Carievale Centennial.

William G. Hobbs, M.D., F.R.S.H. a physician and surgeon, and former doctor at Gainsborough, Saskatchewan (1962-1978) has painted another local historical landscape. Many area residents are familiar with his work and own prints of his paintings.

Carievale Station was painted this year to help the town commemorate their Centennial. The original painting is for sale and orders are being taken at A Touch of Whimsy in Carievale for prints of the painting at a cost of $50.00 each.

Dr. Hobbs studied painting for four years in England. He also attended Pan American University, Banff School of Fine Arts and Emma Lake Campus of the University of Saskatchewan.

He has won many awards at many art shows. His work is in many North American and European collections, and also in those of Mitsubishi Ltd., Marubeni Ltd, and Tohoku Electric Power of Japan, the Schenley Archives, H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and President Mitterand of France.

Hobbs' paintings have also appeared on the covers of several international magazines.
