This is Dr. Hobbs crowning achievement. He had his painting on the cover of his favorite Train Magazine. The original framed painting is in a private collection.
THERE'S a little Rembrandt in paintings by Bill Hobbs and spectators always look for it.

In 1987, his painting was on the cover of the Canadian Medical Association Journal after winning a competition. The painting entitled "The Journey" was part of him immigration series.

"During the German bombing blitz of Great Britain between 1940 and 1941, he was evacuated along with his family to the southwest of England to Penzance, in Cornwall County. It was here as a youngster Dr. Hobbs fell in love with the railroad.
